Dear Friends,
I credit Anthony Furey as the one who made me sit up and take notice. Although I love Toronto and the GTA, I was unaware and uninformed about serious issues that needed attention, especially regarding safety for our children, and the viability of small businesses surviving and thriving long-term in Toronto. While large corporations may be the backbone of the economy, small businesses are the heartbeat that make a city come alive with hope, aspirations, and possibilities for a better future.
Thank you, Anthony, for not adding a municipal sales tax, which would make goods and services skyrocket in price.
Thank you, Anthony, for not tearing down the Gardiner Expressway, to keep our avenues of transportation open and flowing.
Thank you, Anthony, for turning injection sites into treatment centres - for believing in people's potential to recover their health and self-worth.
Thank you for bringing in 500 more police officers to make our streets safe for the little ones again.
Thank you for a plethora of other initiatives which you have undertaken to ensure the successful and safe future of Toronto, one of the greatest cities in the world.
Finally, my thanks go to those who have supported and endorsed Anthony: they have shown me by example what it means to stand up and concretely support someone who has committed to take Toronto to the next collective level of well-being, productivity, social accountability, mutual goodwill and respect for one's neighbour.
Best regards,
Sifu Emiko Hsuen
Hi Friends,
Hope you're all well and enjoying the start to the summer!
Restrictions have eased in Ontario, and there is a strong push for travel restrictions to be lifted across Canada. So, it's a time for staying informed, for remaining clear about what positive outcomes are possible, and for doing what we can to strengthen the possibilities of such positive outcomes.
Peace and vitality to all! 🙏
